In Memory

Glenn Richardson

Glenn Richardson

Glenn died on Tuesday, January 16 in Raleigh, NC. He was married to Linda Wallen. John Wayne Smith introduced them and it proved to be destiny. After Glenn returned from Navy service, he wanted to buy a Mustang. My aunt had one and I arranged for them to meet at her apartment. I sat as Glenn explained that he only had a certain amount of money, and my aunt agreed to sell him the car. I'm glad he didn't pay a lot, because I don't think it held up so well. Anyway, I knew Linda from age twelve when she was my first girlfriend, sorta. They were together for life, even though her health required tough decisions in the recent past. He will be missed.

Glenn, I enjoyed texting and following you on Facebook!  We knew so many of the same people growing up.  I remember one time. you shared a picture of our parents and another couple at Johnny's Supper Club but I can't find it.  I asked you about it later and I don't think eigher of us could - probably Gail Clements parents, they all enjoyed dancing so :)  I;m sorry we never met but felt ike we did, chatting from time to time, and I always loved the way you taked about your Son, Shane, and Grandsons, you loved them so, as you loved your Wife, Linda.  I miss that meeting to hear about Australia and Alaska - I was a Navy Brat!  God got a New Angel  angel    You Will Be Missed sad

Glen and I attended the same church when we were in high school.  He went off to the navy and I joined the Air Force.  I ran into him again when we were both students at Applachian State University in 1973.  We lost contact between his graduation and my retirement.  However, when I retireed and moved to Johnston county I discovered that he lived in Garner.  He was a great guy and I know that he will be missed by all.  Bill Wheeler

Glenn was a kind and caring person. For a new student in the middle of our junior year at Enloe, I recall Glenn being welcoming to me.  His friendship through Facebook kept me aware of his devotion to Christ and great pride in his family. My prayers are for his loved ones.
