Walter Everette "Walt" Dixon, Jr., 65, of Wake Forest, died January 25, 2013. Walt was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam from 1967 - 1969, and he worked for the US Postal Service for 40 years before retiring in 2006 as an electronics technician.
Walt is survived by his wife, Delia B. Dixon; son, Richard A. Dixon of Wake Forest; daughter, Rebecca A. Dixon of Wake Forest and friend, Bill Kent; his mother, Evelyn Dixon of Raleigh; sister, Diane Dixon of Raleigh; brother, Milton and wife Faye of Raleigh; aunt, Margie Price of Goldsboro; Sarah, Karl, Owen, Emma, and Fiona wileyof California, and longtime friend Larry Doster of Charleston, WV.
A gift in memory of Walt may be made in his name to Hospice of Wake County (250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607).

When I opened my e-mails this morning and saw the name Walter Dixon, I was sad. I remember him in high school as one of the nice guys. My heart goes out to his family. Love Patricia Earp Pucher

Walter was a member of our Church as was his entire family, our Scout Troop with his younger brother.
He sent Urbanna & I a letter when we got married, 7.1968 from Viet Nam. I too think of Walter in a
positive light, always giving as the eldest child in a diligent family!
